Hopar Valley

Activities

In a Glimpse:

The Hopar Valley, located 10 kilometres from Nagar Khas in Gilgit Baltistan, is the valley’s biggest natural attraction. It is the home to Rakaposhi peak and Diran peak. It has a scenic region containing mountainous peaks, lakes, and glaciers but the main valley is a lush green plain. It is the best place to visit as it serves as a base camp to the high, glacier-covered mountains of the Hisper.

How to get there:

The recommended drive is a 4×4 vehicle as the terrain could get rough in between the valleys. Once you have left Hunza it is a 33-minute drive approximately and after the Ganish village, a road turns right leading you on the Nagar – Hopar – Hispar Road, on the same road before Hopar lies Nagar Khas.

Climate/Weather Conditions:

The valley is moderate in the summers but has heavy snowfall during the winters. The best time to visit is during the spring that starts in April and ends in June to fully experience the greens.
