Miranjani is the highest peak in the Galyat Region, located at an elevation of 2,992 meters in the Namli Maira area in Ayubia National Park, 80 kilometers north of Islamabad, in the Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Approach to the Starting Point:

The hike to Miranjani begins at the well-known church in Nathia Gali, serving as the starting point for this thrilling adventure. As you set off, the route takes you towards Governor House, and just before reaching it, there is a right downward turn to be followed. Continuing along the path, you’ll encounter a T-junction, where taking the right turn leads you to the scenic Bakot forest while the straight path guides you to Abshaar Road. Moving forward, another T-junction awaits, marking the main starting point of the Miranjani trek.

From this junction, a white cottage acts as a guiding landmark leading to Khan Kalaan, while the straight or left path takes you towards the picturesque Namli Maira villages and the magnificent waterfall. Miranjani Top Trek Description:

The Miranjani hiking track begins at an initial altitude of approximately 7650 feet, serving as the starting point for your ascent. With the ultimate goal and target of reaching the summit of Miranjani, towering at an elevation of 9660 feet, the total distance from the base trek to Miranjani Top spans 5 km on one side. Experienced hikers can conquer this trail in about 3 to 3.5 hours, while those with less trekking experience may require 5 to 6 hours to complete the journey.

While the trail initially consists of soft, mostly ground terrain, it gradually presents challenges with rocks and ascents along the way. As a result, it is advisable and suggested for individuals who are not accustomed to hiking, including children and non-experienced females, to refrain from attempting the summit.

Throughout the hike, you’ll be surrounded by the beauty of large trees and lush vegetation, creating a soothing and tranquil atmosphere that rejuvenates the mind and soul. Best time to Trek Miranjani:

Usually, people go there throughout the year, even in winter. However, winter hikes at Miranjani can be challenging due to knee-deep snow.

August and September are usually the Miranjani top hiking times.

Miranjani Top Camping / Hotels / Rest Spots:

On the approach to Miranjani Top, there are no camping options. First and foremost, due to the presence of leopards in the region, camping is not encouraged. Second, there are no hotels available throughout the way or at the top.

However, two open spots can be used to sit and rest, have meals, or camp if someone wants to spend more time during the journey.

Water and Food Availability:

 Food and fresh water are not available on this hike. Therefore, carry enough water bottles to last 4-5 hours.
 If you plan to hike to Miranjani Peak, bring some snacks with you.

Miranjani Weather:

The weather and temperature in Miranjani are excellent in the summer and bitterly cold in the winter. It also rains a lot in the winter, so a raincoat is required to bring along.
