Pakistan is blessed to witness all four seasons in a year; summer, winter, spring, and autumn. The climate overall is tropical and arid, but owing to the diversity of landscape, different regions witness variations in climate.
The summer in coastal areas and plains is characterized by high temperatures rising up the scale from 30°C to as high as 50 °C. In these areas, the weather is mostly dry, except in the monsoon when rainfall hits the land from mid-June through September. Summer season in mountainous regions of KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan remains comparatively cold as the snow melts into the rivers and streams.
Spring is all about blossom, with mild temperatures up to 25 °C, pleasant climate from mid-February through April.
In autumn, from September to early November, the temperature varies between average 30°C and 18.8°C in plains, and in hilly areas, it fluctuates between 10°C to -4°C.
Winter in Pakistan is dry and cool with the average temperature in plains and lowlands between 4°C and 10°C, and in mountainous regions, it ranges from -7°C to 3°C.
